Shipping Charges: We ship Priority Mail, FedEx Express Saver and FedEx Ground/Home Delivery, all of which deliver within three days (and often two or less). If expedited shipping is requested—or required for a last-minute order—we use Express Mail, FedEx Standard Overnight or FedEx 2nd-Day. Our objective is to select the most economical and reliable carrier with which to entrust your order. Please understand that since shipping costs are determined by weight and distance, it’s nearly impossible to quote exact shipping/handling charges in advance of weighing. When requested, however, we will certainly provide you with our best educated guess.

Delivery Charges: We offer local delivery service within the five boroughs of New York City. Please note that an adult must be available to receive the delivery. To addresses in Manhattan, the charge is $25; to the outer boroughs, $30—for deliveries between 2p and 7:30p. Should you need the cookies delivered earlier, we may need to increase the rate (depending on the season, weather, if, say, the President is in town and all other possible delay-making obstacles). When delivering to an office building, we will call or text you upon delivery to confirm that the package is in the mailroom or with the receptionist. However, if the order is a gift, we are not responsible for the timeliness of its actual arrival to the recipient.

Late Delivery: On the rare occasion that your order arrives late and the carrier is at fault (as opposed to a natural disaster…), we’re sorry but we cannot offer a refund on the order. Once a package has been delivered to the carrier, we are no longer responsible for its care and handling. However, if you requested shipping via one of the services carrying a delivery guarantee—which includes Express Mail and all FedEx options except Ground/Home Delivery—we will gladly pass on a refund of the shipping charges once the carrier has issued the refund to What a Cookie!. Small consolation, we realize, but…. Please note that handling charges are not refundable.

Breakage: We hate broken cookies more than you do! For that reason, we take the utmost care in packing our cookies, making every effort to ensure that they arrive in the same condition in which they left us. All are packed in a double-wall corrugated shipping box lined with eco-friendly packing materials. Individually bagged cookies are placed in singular foam pouches; arrangements and boxed gifts are first bubble-wrapped. We mark “Fragile” on all boxes before delivering them to the carrier. But once they are out of our care, we have no control over what happens and cannot be held responsible. Which is why we only work with the carriers specified above (yes, we’ve learned the hard way). So, again while we hate to hear of our cookies arriving broken, we regret that we cannot offer a refund.
